Slipknot - Slipknot

I've only recently gotten into Slipknot but i really like them. This is their first studio album, and they make a pretty unique sound with their 9 man band. My favorites on this album would have to be "Diluted," "Eyeless" and "Wait And Bleed." All in all it's a pretty sweet album. Buy it here! or alternatively Download (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?zhzjnmdjjyo)

Howard Shore - The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King

The third and final LOTR movie, and with it the third and (in my opinion) best of the three soundtracks. Tracks like "End Of All Things" and "The Fields Of Pelennor" are great dramatic tracks ("End Of All Things" is kind of a mixture between dramatic and a lone oparetic voice, its quite interesting). Howard Shore - The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers

The second installment in the epic trilogy, and once again the music is almost as epic as the movie itself. Howard shore really knows how to blow you away, and successfully does so with this great movie soundtrack. My personal favorites are "The Hornburg" and "Forth Eorlingas," but Emiliana Torrini's track "Gollum's Song" is also a great one. Buy it here! or alternatively Download (Part 1) (Part 2)

Howard Shore - The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring

The first of the three LOTR soundtracks. These three are three of my all time favorite soundtracks, and I also recently found out that Howard Shore also composed the music for one of my all time favorite movies: Mrs. Doubtfire! Anyway, the score for this movie is absolutely brilliant, and some of the tracks are so good that you can actually visualize what's happening in the scene. My favorites would have to be "Concerning Hobbits" and "The Bridge Of Khazad Dum," but there are tons of other great ones. Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Ennio Morricone - The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

Possibly the most well known theme tune ever composed is on this soundtrack. Ennio Morricone has really made a short but brilliant masterpiece of "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly." My three favorite tracks would have to be the title tune, "The Trio" and "The Ecstacy Of Gold" which I never knew was Ennio until after having heard it on multiple live Metallica videos: it's their intro! Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Hans Zimmer - Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End

A great soundtrack, which I recommend to all soundtrack lovers. This soundtrack has some brilliant tracks such as "I Don't Think Now Is The Best Time" and "Parlay," which i percieve to be a tribute to Ennio Morricone. At least it sounds like it! This album does have some mediocre tracks such as "Multiple Jacks," but tracks like "Up Is Down" make up for them. Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Personal rating: 7.5

Track listing:
1) Hoist The Colors

Hans Zimmer/Lisa Gerrard - Gladiator

One of my favorite movie soundtracks, by one of my favorite composers (dear Hans Zimmer). He won several awards for this soundtrack, and well deserved. The great dramatic tracks "The Battle" and "Barbarian Horde" are both amazing, and then there are the other softer tracks (including the very well known "Now We Are Free"). Nightwish - Dark Passion Play

Nightwish is back after a three year break spent looking for a replacement singer! With new singer Anette Olzon, and Tuomas' writing at it's best, this album is (in my opinion) the best yet. The intriguing track "The Poet And The Pendelum" is long but great, and tracks like "Amaranth" and "Sahara" are great hits at their shows. This is most definitely a must have for all power metal fans. Buy it here! or alternatively Download (Part 1) (Part 2)

The fifth studio album marks the end of Nightwish's first singer, Tarja Turunen. After hardships within the band, they decided to remove her from Nightwish and search for a new singer. Once has a lot of Nightwish's most well known songs like "Nemo" and "Wish I Had An Angel." "Creek Mary's Blood" is also a very unique track, having a lot of native american instruments and singing in it. Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Nightwish - Century Child

The fourth studio album of Nightwish proves that the band just keeps getting better and better. This album has some great tracks like "End Of All Hope," "Dead To The World" and "Slaying The Dreamer." Nightwish - Wishmaster

The third studio album of the power metal wonders Nightwish! The first album that I really liked, really grabbing my attention with the title track as well as "Crownless." "Wishmaster" is a pretty solid album with very few filler songs, although it doesn't compare to later works of Tuomas Holopainen (keyboardist and composer). Buy it here! or alternativly Download

Track listing:

1) She Is My Sin
2) The Kinslayer
3) Come Cover Me
4) Wanderlust

11) Fantasmic

Elvenking - The Winter Wake

Well, a couple days later than planned I've finally got it up (no sexual innuendo intended). "The Winter Wake" shows a change from the extreme-folkyness of the first two albums, and has a more power metal feel to it. The change was well recieved by the fans (much more so than the change into "The Scythe"), and although it's more power metalish the band most certainly hasn't lost their folk roots in this album. Some of the great songs include "Swallowtail," "Neverending Nights" and "The Wanderer." Buy it here! or alternatively Download (Part 1) (Part 2).

Personal rating: 8.75

Track listing:

1) Trows Kind

Elvenking - The Scythe

Well, I'm out of chronology again. Reason: I'm having issues uploading "The Winter Wake," so my friend will be doing it when he gets on. Anyways, "The Scythe" is Elvenking's fourth studio album, and it sounds nothing like the previous ones. This album is classified less like folk metal and is put into categories such as power metal and melodic death metal. The band has said that it has not lost it's folk roots, and in fact the upcoming album is supposedly the most folky yet (if it's possible to beat Heathenreel and Wyrd in that respect). The Scythe has been disliked by some Elvenking fans, but personally I love the album. Great tracks include the title track "The Scythe," "Poison Tears" and "The Divided Heart." Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Personal Rating: 9.5

Track listing:

1) The Scythe
2) Lost Hill Of Memories
3) Infection
4) Poison Tears
5) A Riddle Of Stars
6) Romance And Wrath
7) The Divided Heart

Elvenking - Wyrd

Elvenking's second studio album "Wyrd" greets a new vocalist (Kleid) who replaced the old vocalist Damnagoras after he left the band (he would return for the third album, "The Winter Wake", replacing Kleid). "Wyrd" is quite like the previous album "Heathenreel" in that it is pretty much as folky as folk metal can get. I personally love the songs but I don't like Kleid's vocals too much. The album has some great tracks like "Moonchariot" and "A Fiery Stride" and is worth a try for anyone who likes folk metal. Buy it here! or alternatively Download

Personal Rating: 8

Track listing:

1) The Loser's Ball

Metallica - Metallica (Black Album)

The most successful Metallica album is another great piece of work from these brilliant musicians. Sadly the only good piece of work to come for a long time by them. This album contains amazing songs like "Nothing Else Matters" and "Enter Sandman," but I feel it has quite a few filler songs, lessening the brilliance of it somewhat. Buy it here or alternatively Download

Personal Rating: 7.5

Track listing:

1) Enter Sandman
2) Sad But True
3) Holier Than Thou
4) The Unforgiven
5) Wherever I May Roam
